Scammers Using Fake Surveys

In an attempt to stealthily snag your personal or banking information, scammers have recently been imitating businesses interested in getting feedback from their clients. In reality, they’re seeking information to use in identity theft.

In these attacks, the target receives an email or text message that invites them to participate in a customer satisfaction survey (Bank of America example below).

The target is told they will receive a gift card by answering some simple questions about the business’ service. After a few innocent business-related questions, the fictitious survey requests personal information like credit card, banking or social security numbers.
