Switching to a Barracuda Alternative

By January 9, 2014October 21st, 2021Blog

So we’ve spoken before about why Sendio is a better email solution than Barracuda. You’ve heard us talk about our superior accuracy, and the fact that we ensure you’ll never miss an important email ever again. But often, the question we get asked when the time comes to switch to Sendio from Barracuda, is about the process itself. We understand that switching between email solutions might seem to be a daunting process but we’re here to assure you:

It’s going to be okay.

Today, we’ll look at the actual process of switching over, the steps that must be taken and tips for making the transition as easy as possible.

Our first transitional step is to get you outfitted with a brand new Sendio appliance (we offer three options to meet any business need: hosted, on-site, or virtual). This is the heart of the system and installing it is as easy as following the step-by-step directions. Don’t worry about a complicated install, just set the IP address and the Sendio appliance (or virtual appliance) is ready to go. If you’re using our hosted service the setup is even easier:  You’ll simply need to login to the interface and receive your dedicated hosted address.

Next you’ll need to configure your LDAP or active directory servers, setup an auto-sync schedule and import your contacts. Fortunately our email scientists (What? That’s totally what we call them) have whittled down the system so that importing contacts into Sendio takes a single click.

Finally you’ll confirm your user sign-on and configure where you want Sendio to send your mail (the mail that isn’t SPAM of course,) and have the individual users upload their personal contacts via a CSV file from Outlook or a VCard. Don’t worry about losing the whitelist previously used by your former SPAM solution, we’ll help you locate and upload the CSV file that contains the whitelist as well, ensuring that you won’t lose anything during the transfer.

And that’s it. Just finish routing the email and Sendio will be up and running immediately. For new Sendio users, we recommend routing your outbound email a week before your inbound email in order to smooth the transition and make the entire experience as seamless as possible.

So now that you know how easy it is to make the move from Barracuda to Sendio, aren’t you a tad bit curious to try the best email security/productivity/continuity solution out there?
